Thea is a beautiful 2 year old female German Shepherd. Thea was abandoned by her owners in a remote community several months ago and left to fend for herself. Thankfully kind community members worked to keep her fed and eventually managed to gain her trust enough to catch her and her one pup Trina, and bring them to us.
Thea delivered 9 healthy babies on December 18th and once the pups were weaned, she received treatment for Lyme Disease. Thea is now ready for her forever family! She is still very uncertain of strangers and will require a dedicated forever family to help her continue her progress.
he is happy and loves her foster family and other dogs.
Our beautiful Thea is no longer available for adoption. We were concerned about a slight limp she displayed so we sent her for xrays which revealed a severely shattered femoral head at the one hip joint. The damage is very apparent in the photo below. This is an old injury which had healed and we are assuming she was hit by a car at some point. This damage requires the removal of the femoral head and will be done by a specialist. Thea should make a full recovery though and be able to live the rest of her life without the pain she has been suffering from. Until she is fully recovered, she will stay in her current foster home where she is comfortable and very loved!
* Our apologies to all who were interested in adopting Thea. Once recovered, she will be once again looking for her forever family.
