MASR about us:
The plight of unwanted, neglected and abused dogs is a worldwide issue, and often those dogs are one of the most popular and well known breeds, the German Shepherd Dog. Because of it's inherent nature to work and its keen intelligence, the German Shepherd is not suited for any and every home, often ending up in shelters, pounds or cast aside to fend for themselves. Many dogs are found in deplorable conditions, left alone chained to a life of misery or used for purposes that no dog should ever have to endure. The problem is global, but it is just as local and the need to help German Shepherds and Shepherd crosses in Manitoba is always current.

Manitoba All Shepherd Rescue, Inc. was founded in 2006 as Manitoba German Shepherd Rescue by a woman with a deep passion for the breed, many years of experience as a German Shepherd owner and a huge heart that has a place for every dog in peril. Barb Nemshon decided that she could make a difference, so quietly and with determination she began helping dogs. Manitoba All Shepherd Rescue would not exist today without the vision of Barb and her never ending mission to make a difference for German Shepherds and Shepherd crosses in need.
Barb has helped hundreds of dogs to find their way to loving and caring homes, and her goal is to be the hope for those who have none.
Teamed up with Barb are a number of compassionate and dedicated volunteers who offer their time and energy to help these dogs. Without the loving homes of our fosters and the energy of those working behind the scenes we could not help these precious souls find their way. It really does take a village, and the Manitoba All Shepherd Rescue village is outstanding!

"We will always put health and well being first for the dogs in our care. Sick or injured animals are seen immediately by our veterinarian and cared for by fosters who are dedicated to their recovery. Our dogs are vaccinated and spayed or neutered by following current thoughts and practices that are optimal for their extended and long term health. We try to nurture not only their bodies, but their minds and spirits so that they can transition to their forever homes as healed and complete dogs."
"Many of our dogs are acquired from dire circumstances, as strays or abandoned dogs. But we understand that sometimes people's lives can change, and there may be no alternative than to give up their dogs and so they seek out rescue as a resource. We will gladly offer help and guidance to those needing to find a home for their dogs by counselling and advice, and if there is no alternative we will try to find room for 'just one more'. People seeking our help will always be treated with kindness and respect regardless of their predicaments." "Thank you to everyone who has, and continues to support Manitoba All Shepherd Rescue with your interest, donations, time and efforts. Without these many people we could not help all of the dogs that we have, and will in the future Barb Nemshon Executive Director |
